As a result, we invest a great deal of time and money to ensure that all our staff are fully trained and kept up-to-date with new developments in materials technology, engineering processes or product applications. - THE ROLE - Assa Abloy Ltd. in partnership with Ulster University, has established a 2-year Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Project and is offering an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and highly motivated Electronic Engineer to work as a KTP Associate to oversee the development of the proposed SFDIS (below) that willinclude the core activities, but are not limited to: Designing and developing an IoT-based system by integrating a hybrid suite of sensors and embedded systems with data analytics capabilities; ensuring system compatibility with existing fire door structures and compliance with safety regulations; leading the integration of sensor technologies; and conducting testing and validation of the SFDIS as visioned by the Team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop cutting-edge technology while significantly impacting fire safety standards and practices. - KTP PROJECT DESCRIPTION - This KTP aims to develop an advanced IoT-based Smart Fire Door Inspection System (SFDIS) to automate fire door inspections, thus enhancing their reliability and efficiency while reducing maintenance costs.
