Main duties of the job
Seeing patients for Long Term conditions, dressings, ECGs, suture removing, wound checks. This list is not exhaustive.

We have 16,000 patients over two sites. Personal Medical Services are provided by four GP partners, 4 Salaried GPs, GP Retainers, GP Trainees, one long-term locum, two practice nurses, 3 Health Care Assistants, GP Assistants, a Pharmacy team, and a Paramedic. A strong administrative team and a capable reception team support them.

Job responsibilities
The Practice Nurse will be responsible for a number of clinical areas such as infection prevention and control, health promotion, chronic disease management, well women and well man clinics, as well as actively supporting the practice management team in the reviewing and delivery of clinical policy and procedure. The successful candidate will be able to:
* Obtain blood samples
* Perform electrocardiograms (ECGs)
* Manage minor and complex wounds, including leg ulcers
* Provide travel health advice and vaccinations
* Administer child immunisations and provide advice
* Support family planning and women's health, including cervical smears
* Offer sexual health services
* Screen and assist patients in managing long term conditions
Person Specification
Experience
* Experience in a General Practice Setting is a must.
* Must be fully qualified and able to perform childhood immunisations and cervical smears.
