Are you a skilled Mechanical Fitter with a passion for hands-on repair work and diesel engines? Join a leading UK pump rental solutions company as a Workshop Fitter at their busy Repair Centre in Hixon, Staffordshire.
In this role, you’ll be working as part of a close-knit, experienced team, carrying out diesel pump repairs, rebuilds, and testing—helping to keep critical equipment running across the business fleet.
What You’ll Be Doing as a Workshop Fitter:

Carrying out repairs and rebuilds of diesel engine-driven pumps in line with manufacturer guidelines
*
Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults using both hand tools and diagnostic equipment
*
Testing equipment before returning it to fleet readiness
*
Proactively communicating with supervisors and colleagues on job progress, costs, and issues
*
Highlighting any damage and proposing improvements or modifications where needed
*
Completing accurate paperwork and administrative tasks associated with the work
What You’ll Need to be succesful as Workshop Fitter:
*
NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or similar, or equivalent hands-on experience
*
Experience working with diesel engines or industrial pumps is highly desirable
*
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
*
Excellent mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
*
Your own standard tool kit (specialist tools provided)
*
Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
*
A full driving licence and your own transport (due to location – no travel required in the role)
*
Willingness to continue learning and developing through training
