Job Purpose
National Grid is seeking a Head of Portfolio & Regulatory Management.
This role will lead Portfolio Management, Investment Planning, and Regulatory functions, reporting to the VP, CIO of Strategy & Results Management. The team will focus on transparency, accountability, and integrated end-to-end investment and portfolio management, aligned with regulatory commitments.
The responsibilities include managing the Global IT&D portfolio and investment planning, providing thought leadership on regulatory activities, and collaborating with external regulators and stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
Key Aspects
* Develop comprehensive investment plans and regulatory recovery strategies to advance IT&D initiatives with clear communication and bold goals.
* Create documentation and presentations for senior leadership, define North Star goals across US and UK IT & Business teams, and establish metrics to measure program performance.
Key Accountabilities
This role requires excellent collaboration skills, familiarity with bi-modal IT&D portfolios, and the ability to oversee portfolio tracking and reporting at the executive level. Building trusted relationships with customers and regulators, managing regulatory reporting, and ensuring compliance with legislative changes are essential.
The candidate should be able to connect detailed activities to broader organizational goals and identify necessary process or tool changes.
Required Knowledge and Experience
* Portfolio management in a bi-modal environment, including regular reviews.
* Expertise in investment planning, business case development, and data-informed decision-making.
* Experience in establishing portfolio governance standards and managing technology investments aligned with regulatory commitments.
* Regulatory experience in utilities or highly regulated environments, including regulatory reporting and submissions.
Skills
* Strong communication, change management, and facilitation skills.
* Leadership and stakeholder management capabilities, including influencing senior stakeholders.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's in Engineering, Technology, or related field.
* MBA or Master’s in technology management preferred.
* Extensive experience (10+ years) in technology services, portfolio management, and regulatory environments, especially in utilities.
