I am currently working with a global manufacturer to recruit a Senior Buyer to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure supplier relationships are stable and sustainable, building and maintaining good communication levels and procure product effectively, including travel to supplier locations.
2. Oversee the accurate administration of the function, including all documentation, ordering, pricing, shipment, warehousing suitability, stock control, and scheduling payments and prepayments.
3. Contact transport providers and intermediaries, organizing shipping.
4. Collaborate closely with the Head of Product Development to assist in identifying potential new products/ranges and profiling new suppliers.
5. Liaise with sales to ensure customer demands are clear, via use of forecasts, and are met via correct service levels.
6. Liaise with Far East Supply Representative, assisting in managing supply chain relationships.
7. Develop key suppliers to improve relationships/partnerships and mitigate potential future risk.
8. Monitor regular suppliers and transport providers to assess performance and price competitiveness, introducing metrics where necessary.
9. Identify slow selling stock and initiate action.
10. Analyze buying trends to identify areas for improvement and/or cost saving.
11. Develop and manage ESG responsibilities within the supply chain.
