The Insight Investment Analyst role is an important hire and will play a key part in Defaqto's growth plans and purpose and will help facilitate revenue generation through the delivery of high-quality insight-based products and services. Based in the Insight and Consulting department and specifically part of the fund and discretionary fund management team (including Tax Advantaged Investments), this role will have a lot of variety, be fast paced - challenging at times - and often working to tight deadlines. What you'll do Keep up to date with developments within UK Financial Services in terms of products, the market, and the industry. Conduct due diligence interviews with fund managers and author qualitative Fund, Tax Advantaged, Management Group and ESG reviews Assist Investment Consultants in the analysis and resolution of risk rating breaches Participate in internal risk rating breach and fund review meetings Build and manage effective relationships with a network of relevant industry contacts Focus on assigned specialist areas, liaising with relevant individuals to identify the future data needs of clients, and Defaqto in general Contribute towards the formulation, maintenance and development of methodologies to create Ratings for relevant types of investments Contribute to the development of new functionality within Defaqto’s software applications, as and when required Assist in the research, creation and delivery of content - including publications, articles, commentary, newsletters, website content, PR activity, etc. Support the Sales teams to generate sales opportunities - attend and contribute to client meetings Assist and contribute to company-wide and client-specific projects What you'll need to succeed Sector Experience: Working knowledge of the UK retail financial services market - essential Experience working in the investment sector with detailed knowledge of OEICs, Unit Trusts, ETFs Investment Trusts - essential Knowledge of Tax Advantaged investments - desirable Qualifications: A minimum of 2 strong A-Levels but ideally educated to degree level Ideally, Investment Management Certificate (IMC) or Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI) level 4 qualifications. Skills: Highly IT literate, with good knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and advanced knowledge of Excel Highly numerate with excellent data analysis, manipulation and interpretation skills Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise a busy workload to meet deadlines Good presentation skills, with the ability to succinctly summarise and convey the important aspects of the message Ability to collate, analyse and report on large volumes of data Self-motivated, independent and proactive with a strong drive and inquisitiveness to learn and deliver results with a sense of urgency. Use initiative and take ownership/responsibility for work A strong attention to detail with the ability to think in a logical and structured manner Location You will work on a hybrid basis spending 2 days each week working from our Haddenham (Buckinghamshire) office - it's easy to access being near the M40 and there is plenty of free parking onsite. The office is based on the main train line between London Marylebone and Oxford.
