My clients are a leading Fund and Corporate Services provider and seeking a Fund Assistant Manager to join the team, due to expansion plans.
Within this opportunity you will assist with the management of day-to-day accounting services in the specific service line to ensure that the team consistently meet deadlines and provide a first class and highly professional service at all times. You will help to develop an expanding internal Centre of Excellence (CoE), oversee resource planning for team members, and participate in accounting related projects. You will manage, supervise, and develop team members, maintain and develop relationships with the team's clients, and deputise for the Senior Manager during their absence.
What you'll be doing:
1. Support the Senior Manager and Head of Jurisdiction to deliver a first-class professional service to clients, both internal and external.
2. Deputise for the Senior Manager in their absence when relevant.
3. Manage the timely and accurate production of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and management reports.
4. Manage the timely and accurate production of monthly, quarterly, and annual VAT returns.
5. Manage the timely and accurate production of monthly CIS returns.
6. Monitor the quality and service levels of the team ensuring compliance with ISAE 3402 requirements.
7. Ensure financial statements prepared are in line with UK GAAP/IFRS or other appropriate standards.
8. Manage stakeholder expectations.
9. Monitor all client jobs to ensure timely and efficient completion.
10. Plan and organise own client portfolio and team time planning.
11. Oversee appraisals for all team members and conduct appraisals for members of the team.
12. Review current workload and resources.
13. Supervise the team in relation to client activities and procedures.
14. Plan and prioritise own and team workflow.
15. Understand and comply with relevant organisational policies and procedures, supporting the Senior Manager to manage risks around the accounting function.
The ideal background for this role:
1. Recognised accounting qualification (ACA / ACCA).
2. A minimum of 4 years' practical accounting work experience.
3. Direct experience of producing financial statements for a variety of corporate entities within various jurisdictions.
4. Experience of managing, developing, and coaching others in a team environment.
5. Experience of exceptional external and/or internal client service.
6. Experience in a financial services environment, ideally in fund administration and/or real estate is preferred.
7. Exceptional understanding and knowledge of current industry and accounting legislation, regulation, and working practices.
8. Exceptional knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
9. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
10. Excellent knowledge of UK VAT is preferred.
11. Excellent knowledge of Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) is preferred.
12. In-depth knowledge of Yardi is preferred.
13. Working knowledge of an accounting system.
14. Ability to manage and motivate a team of accountants.
15. Ability to deal with complex accounting matters.
16. Ability to manage and resolve difficult client matters.
17. Decision-making with conflicting and demanding deadlines.
18. Progressive and takes responsibility for self-development and that of others.
