Account Executive
Reports to Account Director
Locations: London, Manchester, and Oxford
Job Summary
As an Account Executive, will provide support for the day-to-day running of various accounts and be involved at every stage, from pitch to delivery.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Account Responsibilities:
Client management
1. Contact via email; face-to-face contact as and when required
2. Ask questions and seek guidance from line manager on the first draft of client communications, status reports, contact reports, emails
Project management
3. Check copy and coordinate sign off
4. Brief studio with amends
5. Support projects
6. Set up kick-off meetings and client status reports
7. Attend ZINC training
Taking ownership
8. With direction, take ownership of elements of a project and be responsible for its delivery
9. Actively support other members of the team
10. Seek out opportunities for own development, attend training, read daily health/pharma news alerts, read industry publications
11. Attend ABPI, Bribery Act and Good Publications Practice training
Financial management
12. Draft financial paperwork, invoices, estimates
13. Calculate time spent on a project and understand the importance for keeping accurate timesheets
14. Understand the hours related to the job
15. Get quotes from third-party suppliers
Developing new business
16. Perform desk research in support of new business
17. Liaise on cross group projects
Team working
18. Buddy other AEs
19. Constantly seek opportunities to help team members
20. Get to know the Medical Writers on the accounts and seek an understanding of their role and needs
21. Adhere to the Open Health Medical Communications processes and identify areas for refinement/ improvement
22. Meet with ‘Meeting & Events’ and ensure clarity on their processes
Technical Ability
23. Develop a clear understanding of the disease area associated with each account
24. Writing
25. Develop first drafts of contact reports, weekly situation reports, agency status reports, day-to-day correspondence
26. Demonstrate a meticulous eye when checking copy/proofs Overall
27. Develop an understanding of the decision making process and the ability to work under pressure.
28. Develop maturity and judgement to be able to recognise when there is a problem or error and to handle it openly and effectively.
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
29. Degree Educated within a scientific discipline (or equivalent)
30. Ability to multitask and prioritise; excellent time management skills
31. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
32. Excellent attention to detail
33. Able to work independently and as part of a team
34. Work within the OPEN Health values at all times
35. Competent in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
