We are recruiting for a Design Manager with civil engineering experience and experience working for on local authority projects to join our growing team in the Midlands, firstly to be based on a flood alleviation scheme in Derby before overseeing public realm and highway works in the Birmingham region. Reporting into the project team you will fully understand and manage the design requirements of the tender/project and to provide assistance and guidance to design co-ordinators where and as appropriate. Manage design consultants and sub consultants along with design sub-contractors to ensure correct and timely delivery of all design related information for the execution of the works on site Manage design co-ordinators and act as mentor to them for the projects they are involved in Input into the Employers Requirement/Contractor Proposal Compatibility Manage and assist the Design Co-ordinator during the construction phase Chair and minute Design meetings and ensure production of information in line with the design Understand the different Client procurement routes Experience of working at pre-construction stage Understanding of D&B contracts Commercial awareness Be able to use Microsoft Word / Excel / PowerPoint Be able to use View Point for Projects (4Projects ) Degree in construction related discipline Minimum six years’ construction industry experience Our people are at the heart of our success and our proposition to them is work with purpose, have time for life, build a career with no limits and surround yourself with great people.
