sia Abrasives Ltd (part of the Bosch Power Tools/Accessories Division) is an innovative manufacturer of non-woven and foam abrasive products as well as a distributor in the UK of coated abrasives. The sites in Greetland, West Yorkshire, and Alfreton, Derbyshire, have a wealth of experience in the manufacture and development of abrasive products, ideally complementing sia Abrasives’ systems solutions.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in the design and optimization of chemical processes to improve efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
* Support process simulations, modelling, and analysis to identify areas for improvement.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams on the installation, commissioning, and operation of process equipment.
* Participate in troubleshooting and resolving process-related issues.
* Contribute to process performance monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Assist in preparing technical reports and documentation.
* Engage in health, safety, and environmental compliance activities.
Qualifications:
Please note that you must have the right to live and work in both the UK and Republic of Ireland for this position as sponsorship is not available.
* You have excellent writing skills, with the ability to be creative on all topics and modify styles to suit varying target audiences and channels.
* You have strong conceptual and analytical skills, with the ability to report effectively.
* Be a communicator: have a relatively outgoing personality, with a moral compass.
* IT literate.
* High level of integrity and confidentiality, demonstrates attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
* Willingness to accept change, a proactive and positive approach to tasks.
* Strong interpersonal skills (cooperation across hierarchies and international boundaries).
* Flexible, with the ability to support and positively influence across various departments and levels of management.
Minimum Requirements:
* Already a graduate within an Engineering discipline and looking to further your career/study in chemical or process engineering as a Masters student/degree apprentice, or
* Currently studying for an undergraduate degree and required to take a placement as part of your course.
This is a fixed-term internship or apprenticeship (dependent on current level of qualification). This position is open to undergraduates or Masters students who are required to partake in a work placement as part of their course.
