This post is designed for an enthusiastic doctor keen to deliver high quality care whilst gaining hands on experience under Consultant supervision and progressing in their careers.
There is currently no out of hours service requirement for this role. However this may change in the future based on departmental needs.

Job responsibilities
The Department
The Urology department provides care across all major sub-specialties including:
* General Urology cases including TURBT
* BPH surgery including Rezum procedure, HoLEP and TURP
* Female Urology surgery and outpatient cases
* Selected paediatric surgeries
* Andrology clinics
* Upper urinary tract diagnostic and therapeutic surgeries
* Diagnostic procedures including TP biopsies, urodynamic studies and flexible cystoscopies
* Cancer MDT and non-cancer MDT
Specialist Cancer Care
Radical pelvic cancer surgery is managed by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. However TRFT provides:
* Integrated inpatient and outpatient facilities
* Follow-up care for prostate and bladder cancer patients
* MDT meeting for all patients with cancer
Team Support
The department is supported by:
* 2 Advanced Nurse Specialists (Band 8a)
* 4 Cancer Nurse Specialists
* 1 Clinical Nurse Specialist delivering Andrology services
* 5 Consultants
* Trainees 2 at ST3+ level and 1 at FY2 level
The Post
This post is designed for an enthusiastic doctor who is keen to deliver high-quality care whilst gaining hands on experience under Consultant supervision and progressing in their careers.
Clinical responsibilities:
* Manage elective and emergency admissions including investigations and discharge co-ordination
* Participate in ward rounds to ensure patient care and exposure to emergency urological cases
* Attend timetabled sessions in Consultant supervised theatres and diagnostic investigations to enhance skills and education
* Participate in outpatient clinics under Consultant supervision including diagnostic clinics such as cystoscopy sessions
There is currently no out of hours service requirement for this role. However this may change in the future based on departmental needs.

Research and Audit
* Evidence of audit and the implementation of change following the audit
* Relevant research published in peer review journal
Qualifications
* Full registration and a licence to practice with the GMC - Please confirm your GMC registration number
* FRCS qualification or equivalent
Experience
* 4 years full time post-graduate working in a clinical area (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty or equivalent experience and competencies
Ability and Skills
* Ability to manage elective and emergency admissions including investigations and discharge co-ordination
Management Skills
* Demonstrate effective team working skills
* Time management and organisational ability. An example may be they have developed and run training programmes.
* Proven knowledge of systems and process of NHS or equivalent
* Sense of understanding and commitment to corporate responsibility
* Commitment to and understanding of their responsibility to the organisation. Examples may include previous involvement in management roles, management courses
