With 16 production sites and 9 R&D centers, we support over 1,500 customers worldwide Reference 2025-1474 Job Family / Sub-family Industrial - Maintenance Contract type Apprentice Contract duration (Months) 36 Job title Instrument Technician Apprentice M/F/D Position Context: As an Instrument Technician Apprentice, you will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and you will be working in a workshop environment with a highly experienced team of trade technicians and engineers. You will be employed directly by Seqens under a 36 month apprenticeship agreement, following the Science Industry Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship Standard. Your training plan will include a mixture of internal and external training, and will include a BTEC L3 Instrumentation Engineering qualification. You will also be mentored by a senior member of the team. The position will be expected to work at both the Middlesbrough and Billingham site. Main tasks : Work as part of the in-house maintenance team across two manufacturing sites Implement planned instrumentation maintenance tasks and repairing equipment on as needed basis to maintain plant availability, reliability & performance Instrumentation fault identifications and recommendations in order to carry out simple/complex repairs Conduct routine inspection and testing of equipment and systems to ensure items are safe for use Implementing plant improvements as identified by the Maintenance Managers Facilitating isolations for maintenance activities Daily input into the computerised maintenance management system Compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental management policies Assist with the control and coordination of spare parts and the optimisation of stock levels The position is a 40 hour working week with 12 months at a local training provider followed by 24 months on site. The apprentice will be working Monday – Friday (08:00-16:30). Required skills : You will have a great aptitude for learning - this is a role where you will need to get involved You’ll work hard, but will have fun doing so. You will need to be confident, articulate and have very good communication and interpersonal skills.
