My client is undergoing a sustained period of growth; as a result, they require an experienced leader to join their organisation as Head of Business Intelligence.
The role holder will be responsible for managing the BI/MI function, ensuring that a suite of reports and value-add analysis is readily available to senior stakeholders, containing key information and analytical insight to help drive business decisions.
Key Role Responsibilities:
* Ensure a structured and organised approach to reporting - agreeing requirements, timelines, prioritisation, definitions of metrics and outputs
* Drive continuous improvement of the BI/MI function and its reporting capability, identifying areas to increase efficiency and streamlining of processes
* Identify, design and implement a robust approach to the recording, storing, accessing and analysis of businesses data assets - e.g. a data warehouse or similar approach
* Continuously enhance the accuracy of data and reporting, to develop a high degree of trust and credibility amongst stakeholders across the organisation
* Help to drive positive change throughout the organisation through delivering insightful reporting and constantly assessing the needs of all stakeholders
* Provide regular feedback on operational performance, escalating accordingly if needed
* Effectively deliver insight by demonstrating strong communication skills, with adaptability to cater for the appropriate audience
* Use suitable reporting tools in accordance with the topic at hand (SQL, Python, SSRS, Tableau, PowerBI, Excel, Orca, CaseFlow or any other tools that may be used)
* Coach, and mentor the existing team of high-performing Analysts
* Manage the team effectively by distributing tasks and monitoring quality of output, ensuring delivery is efficient and to a consistently high standard
* Play a key role in the recruitment and induction of new employees to the department, teaching them the company’s approach to BI/MI and Data.
* Liaise effectively with the Senior Leadership Team in matters of strategic direction, data quality, change control and general queries as appropriate
* Manage all BI/MI and Data Asset governance processes, helping to develop and implement effective best practices to protect and classify data assets
* Ensure suitable documentation is in place detailing information captured within reports and processes for maintenance/changes
* Manage and coordinate team resources to deliver projects on time and on budget
Key Candidate Requirements:
* Related BI/MI and Data leadership experience in the Financial Services sector
* Expert knowledge of MS-Excel and SQL, with experience of BI tools such as Tableau, Microsoft Power BI or QlikView
* Hands-on experience of data warehouse project implementations
* Specialist knowledge of data governance principles.
* Track knowledge of BI/MI development across the entire lifecycle - including requirement gathering, design and build, testing and release
* Previous experience in producing interactive dashboards through BI/MI Tools
* Accustomed to management of multiple data source environments
* Can present technical MI in appropriate language to non-technical business stakeholders
* Excellent people management skills, and adaptable in business approach
