PCB Engineer - Onsite - £55,000
We’ve partnered with a leading aviation manufacturer located just outside Portsmouth, which is currently looking for a skilled PCB Technician. This company specialises in designing and consulting within the aeronautical industry, offering innovative solutions to support the development of cutting-edge aerospace technology. Key Responsibilities:
· Perform PCB rework and fault finding, including diagnosing and repairing issues down to component level.
· Follow test and commissioning processes to ensure products meet performance and quality standards.
· Assemble and build electronic products to a high standard, ensuring consistency and precision.
· Work with schematics, assembly drawings, and technical documentation to troubleshoot and verify circuit functionality.
· Conduct functional testing and validation of PCBs and electronic assemblies.
· Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in electronic assembly and repair.
· Maintain meticulous attention to detail when soldering, wiring, and assembling components.
· Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve product quality and resolve design or manufacturing issues.
· Follow workshop safety protocols and ensure compliance with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) procedures.
Key Skills & Experience:
· Strong experience in PCB assembly, rework, and fault diagnosis.
· Solid understanding of electrical and electronic principles, including circuit analysis.
· Ability to work from schematics, wiring diagrams, and test procedures.
· Proficiency in soldering and component replacement, including fine-pitch SMD work.
· Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and function generators.
· Exceptional attention to detail and ability to produce consistent, high-quality work.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to fault finding and repair.
Preferred Qualifications:
· HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or relevant experience).
· IPC-610 / IPC-7711/21 certification (or willingness to obtain).
· Prior experience working in high-reliability industries (e.g., aerospace, defence, telecoms, or automotive).
