The Digital Workplace Engineer (Devices) is responsible for managing the lifecycle and performance of Windows, ChromeOS, iOS and Android based devices, including laptops, desktops, smartphones, and workplace accessories. This role operates primarily from the IT Provisioning Lab area, which houses the stockroom, device imaging/testing workstation, and preparation benches.
This role ensures that all devices meet organisational standards for security, performance, and compliance while leveraging Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) tools to optimise the end-user computing experience. Additionally, the engineer will manage OT (Operational Technology) hardware running Windows, ensure proper device encryption, and oversee configurations using GPOs.
This role plays a vital part in driving automation, maintaining device health, and supporting seamless IT operations. While the role is primarily based at Snodland, there will be opportunities to work from home occasionally, depending on business needs.

What will you be accountable for?
* Manage the entire lifecycle of end user devices, including laptops, desktops, smartphones and peripherals, from procurement to decommissioning. Maintain an accurate inventory of devices, ensuring sufficient stock levels for new starters, replacements, and upgrades.
* Administer and optimise UEM solutions (e.g., Ivanti Endpoint Manager, Intune) to ensure secure, efficient, and compliant device management.
* Oversee OS deployment, patch management, and troubleshooting, ensuring all devices meet security and performance standards. Monitor endpoint health using analytics tools, identifying and resolving performance issues proactively.
* Develop, deploy, and maintain Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to enforce consistent configurations across all devices.
* Engage with different business areas to understand their unique device needs and support them in maximising their use of them.
What do you bring to the role?
* A Level in IT related subject.
* IT industry certification relevant to Windows devices and endpoint management.
* Degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field would be advantageous.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
* In-depth knowledge of Windows 10/11, iOS, Android with regards to deployment, patching, and troubleshooting.
* Ability to create, manage, and troubleshoot Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
* Knowledge of device encryption technologies.
* Proven experience managing end user devices in a corporate environment.
* Proven experience administering UEM platforms for endpoint provisioning, configuration, and compliance.
