MWH Treatment is looking to strengthen their SHEQ team with a project-based Health & Safety Advisor for our Severn Trent framework. Based in the Severn Trent region on our Witches Oak project, we are looking for someone who will fulfil the day-to-day H&S duties, and to contribute to the management and development of the regional safety strategy.
You will report directly to the Health and Safety Manager and the responsibilities will include:
1. Provide support to the project team to enable compliance with health and safety legislation and on the implementation of HSE guidance and best practice.
2. Carry out systematic audits and inspections of our construction site, to verify compliance with the legislative requirements and compliance with the requirements of the health and safety management systems.
3. Monitor the satisfactory resolution of health and safety problems.
4. Investigate accidents and incidents to identify the root cause and learning points.
5. Assist the project team with the preparation of risk assessments and identification of suitable control measures, as and when required.
6. Assist with the development and maintenance of the safety-related documentation,. manuals, procedures, guidance notes and forms.
7. Liaise with clients, HSE Inspectors and external assessors.
8. Sustain and build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships with the site team.
9. Support the development of the project team in the creation of a positive health and safety culture.
