Job Description
The client requires a Project Manager with extensive experience in residential development across all RIBA stages in the UK. The ideal profile could be an architect, project manager, or development manager. The client is a global investment fund manager across global macro asset classes. They have over 200 employees internationally and six in the property team. This role will be office-based, five days a week, in Mayfair. It would suit someone who wants to prioritise their career and reap the benefits of working in a dedicated, tight-knit team. It is a unique opportunity and a varied role overseeing a global private residential portfolio.
The role involves working on UK and global projects, focusing on new builds and refurbishments of both listed and non-listed properties. You will follow program plans for prestigious, once-in-a-lifetime projects. This position is ideal for those who want to stay closely involved in design and development of projects and enjoy a hands-on role. This opportunity suits profiles comfortable with significant responsibility and minimal hand-holding.
Responsibilities
1. Arrange tenders for works, including drafting client briefs and schedules of works up to the value of £5 million.
2. Monitor projects to ensure they adhere to timelines and budgets.
3. Oversee suppliers and contractors to ensure work meets high standards, agreed timeframes, and cost-effectiveness.
4. Draft contracts, particularly within the JCT suite.
5. Administer contracts and manage post-completion documentation.
6. Conduct regular property inspections alongside the Property Director.
7. Work with the Property Director to refine procedures, improving efficiency and quality.
Experience & Qualifications
1. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
2. RICS or RIBA/ARB certified.
3. Strong business acumen in project planning and management.
4. Strong verbal, written, and organisational skills.
5. Proven experience of over 5 years as a project manager on prime or super prime residential real estate in the UK.
6. Experience in conservation and/or listed buildings.
7. Seen through RIBA stages.
8. Has appointed and procured consultants for projects up to £5 million.
9. Experience of refurbishment and new build residential projects.
10. Exceptional stakeholder management.
Please note, this is a five-day-a-week office-based role, apart from site inspections. The salary is based on the individual to ensure no levels or profiles are excluded.
