Axcis are pleased to be working with a fantastic mainstream secondary school in Taunton who are seeking an experienced cover supervisor to support on a full-time basis.
About the Role:
The role of a cover supervisor will involve teaching a range of subjects in the absence of the classroom teacher, ensuring continuity of learning, the engagement of pupils and the implementation of safeguarding and behaviour policies. This is a varied role which offers the opportunity to teach in a wide range of subject areas, but generally you can expect to be responsible for the following:
1. Delivering engaging, pre-planned lessons to KS3 and 4 pupils.
2. Implementing the school’s behaviour policy and collaborating with leadership to ensure all incidents are recorded and followed up.
3. Using a range of differentiation techniques to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum.
4. Follow the school’s safeguarding policy and pass any concerns onto the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
5. Support with break and lunch duties.
6. Monitor and record progress and feedback to class teacher and parents/carers.
Key Details:
Salary: £110 - £130 per day
Hours: 8.15am – 3.30pm
Contract Type: Full-time with potential for permanent placement for the right candidate.
