About the job This role is primarily responsible for identifying and developing the growth of SWR's Revenue Protection activity through effective analysis of associated data. The post holder will support the Revenue Protection management team by monitoring and reporting on the value of existing initiatives and by making recommendations for new ones which add value. To ensure that SWR regularly adapts to changing habits of fare evaders the post-holder will provide regular updates in the form of Key Performance Indicators and relevant information as requested by the Senior Revenue Protection Strategy Manager. The post holder will also be responsible for carrying out various administrative tasks (taking minutes, organising meetings and managing diaries) to support the Revenue Protection Team as required. Due to the nature of the work associated with this role it is anticipated that a small proportion of the post holder's time will be spent assisting the commercial team in their duties, e.g. to assist in covering annual leave. Your main responsibilities will be: Reviews data from Ticketless Travel Surveys and makes informed recommendations to the Revenue Protection Operations Manager which direct deployment plans and activity. Analyses Revenue Protection activity regularly to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for protecting SWR's commercial interests. Draws data from multiple sources (e.g. TTS, Sales, Gateline Compliance, on-train sales, etc;) to make informed assumptions about the root causes of commercial trends. Analyses information relating to SWR's Agency providers as requested to identify cost savings and trends. Monitors Prosecution & Fraud data to identify specific areas of concern and works with the Revenue Protection Operations Manager and Fraud & Prosecutions manager to ensure that these are dealt with accordingly. Highlights the need for additional data to drive informed decision-making and seeks appropriate sources as needed. Produces and monitors KPI's as required by the Senior Revenue Protection Strategy Manager. Articulates complex commercial themes to stakeholders with less commercial knowledge in a way that is easy to understand. Builds interpretive models to produce regular reports quickly. Handles sensitive personal and commercial data effectively as required in line with GDPR and other relevant legislation. Compiles and prepares reports, presentations and correspondence as required with analytical commentary if requested. Attends meetings as required to provide specialist input and to take actions pertinent to the role. Takes minutes at meetings as requested by the Senior Revenue Protection Strategy Manager Assists in the administration of financial activity associated with agency contracts (Neptune, Invoice Reconciliation) where required by working with the Station Contracts Manager and Finance. Works closely with SWR's commercial team, sharing information, best practice and assistance where appropriate As a minimum, you will need to have: Good standard of education. Must have the ability to analyse and present data effectively. Strong Financial and commercial acumen Evidence of strong planning and organisational skills Very strong analytical skills required Excellent level of numeracy skills. Resilience and the ability to cope in a pressurised environment. Experience of report writing is essential Must be able to work on own initiative Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work in a team and alone. Excellent IT skills, including the Microsoft Suite required. Knowledge and experience of working in the Railway Industry is preferred but not required.
