We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to drive operational excellence within our HR team. As our Head of HR Operations, you will lead the HR Operations function, delivering seamless, efficient, and compliant HR & Payroll services. Your leadership will enhance the employee experience and support the broader HR strategy, ensuring continuous improvement in processes and outcomes.
You will be responsible for:
HR Operations Excellence
* Collaborate with the HR Director to develop and implement a comprehensive HR Operations strategy aligned with organizational goals.
* Lead the delivery of core HR services including payroll, benefits, policy administration, reward, contract management, and onboarding/offboarding processes.
* Manage the headcount budget in partnership with HR Business Partners and Finance.
* Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, delivering against governance frameworks.
* Act as the primary point of escalation for operational issues and queries, ensuring efficient resolution.
Payroll & Benefits Management
* Oversee the complete payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries, statutory deductions, and compliance with tax and pension regulations.
* Work with the Payroll Manager to enhance payroll processes, reporting, and communications.
* Review and optimize employee benefits, maintaining a benefits matrix aligned with organizational levels.
Employee Data Management
* Ensure the secure and compliant management of HR data, in adherence to GDPR and other relevant regulations.
* Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure HR operations effectiveness.
* Provide insights and actionable data to support decision-making across HR Operations, HR Business Partners, and business leaders.
* Oversee audits to ensure adherence to quality standards in HR and payroll operations.
Process Optimisation & Innovation
* Evaluate and improve HR systems/technology to optimize functionality, efficiency, and user experience.
* Identify and implement process improvements that align with best practices to enhance both the employee experience and HR operations.
* Leverage technology to drive automation and foster continuous innovation.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Build and maintain strong relationships with HR team members and senior leaders, providing expert guidance and support.
* Partner with internal stakeholders to understand operational needs and address requirements effectively.
* Collaborate with external service providers to ensure high-quality, cost-effective HR services, including benefits, rewards, HRIS, and payroll.
People & Culture
* Lead and develop a high-performing HR operations team, ensuring alignment with organizational values and a focus on excellence.
* Provide coaching, training, and mentorship to ensure team members are well-equipped to perform their roles.
* Set clear objectives and responsibilities for team members, fostering growth and development.
* Conduct people management activities, including performance reviews and 1:1s, and uphold a strong culture of health and safety across all operations.
What you will need to be successful in this role:
* A degree in Human Resources or similar is essential.
* Masters Degree in HR Management or similar is desirable.
* CIPP foundation qualification is desirable.
* Experience of working in a similar capacity within the Motorsport, automotive, or high-performance engineering sector.
* Proven experience in HR operations and payroll management.
* Overseeing budgets, headcount, workforce planning processes.
* Comprehensive understanding of UK employment laws, payroll regulations, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
* Strong proficiency in HR systems, data management and optimisation, leveraging technology for process improvement.
* Strategic thinking and proven experience in a similar leadership role.
* Experience in leading HR projects with measurable outcomes.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Data-driven approach to decision-making and problem-solving.
* Strong influencing skills and the ability to take people with you.
* Coaching and facilitation skills.
* A strong bias for optimisation and driving continuous improvement.
* To have a flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team in a demanding and rapidly changing environment.

This is a full-time office-based role based at our campus in Silverstone, with additional requirement to travel to other locations where necessary.
