Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen to come and work at Alumhurst Ward, St Ann's Hospital. Alumhurst Ward is a 20 bedded older persons functional mental health unit. The Team Administrator is an essential part of the team. We are looking for the successful candidate to be friendly and professional. Previous experience of RiO Electronic Patient Record is beneficial but not essential. Employment in this post requires a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check. Main duties of the job To assist the team by providing clinical and administrative support services. To ensure the provision of an effective and efficient secretarial and administrative support including dealing with telephone enquiries, relatives, carers, Social Workers and other agencies, maintaining good communications between staff members of the Trust and outside representatives using own initiative and managing own workload. To undertake letter writing on behalf of clinical staff and ensuring these are sent in a timely manor. To take responsibility for the handling of petty cash. Attending the weekly ward review. You will also be required to take minutes for this. To provide a friendly, safe and efficient administrative and office systems, databases, statistical reports and spreadsheets to support the delivery of excellent patient care. To ensure that patients and contacts with the service are dealt with in a friendly, empathetic and professional manner and to help ensure that the patient's experience is positive. To deal with confidential, contentious and urgent material proactively in a sensitive and appropriate manner, exercising analytical skills and sound judgement. Work as part of an efficient and professional team. To work systematically and develop communication networks that contributes effectively to the service provided. To maintain efficient filing systems and keep up to date.
