Being able to travel with me anywhere in the world for work would be part of the role, so having a valid passport would be essential. I used to play the Paralympic sport ‘Boccia’ at a national level and now run my own disability sports coaching business. Any PA’s who support me will be required to assist the me in travelling to and from coaching sessions, along with providing physical assistance setting the session up. As a result, a clean driving licence will be required to drive my modified vehicle. My cerebral palsy means that I need help with personal care, domestic tasks and generally maintaining a clean living space. It is important that I find PA’s that can be flexible and creative so that they can help minimise the barriers that disabled people face and find ways to solves and deal with these challenges.
