About the role:
* Location: Belfast
* Employment Type: Full-Time, Temporary Ongoing
* Hourly Rate: £18.06 per hour
* Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm)
* Holidays: 35 days pro rata
* Closing Date: 13th December 2024
Key responsibilities:
* Support the Senior Project Manager in the procurement of construction works, building services, and professional service contracts for the Asset Management division.
* Manage and lead construction procurement exercises, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of tender documentation.
* Collaborate with clients and the Corporate Procurement Unit to develop tender and contract documentation that complies with public procurement policy and legislation.
* Provide technical support in drafting procurement exercises and delivering contracts.
* Prepare and analyse costings, benchmark contract costs, and complete tender evaluations.
* Manage project workloads using PRINCE 2 methodologies and ensure all deadlines are met.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies across all projects.
Criteria:
* Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent Level 6 qualification) in Quantity Surveying or a relevant Building/Construction discipline, plus 2+ years of experience in a construction role.
OR
* BTEC Higher National Certificate/Diploma (or equivalent Level 5 qualification) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, plus 3+ years of relevant experience in a construction function.
Skills & Attributes:
* Proven experience in managing and developing contract documentation for tender processes.
* Experience in the managing cost data and related information on repairs and planned maintenance contracts, from initial brief though to contract award.
* Strong financial and technical construction-related knowledge.
* Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Experience in and understanding of NEC3 or NEC4 contracts.
* Ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
* Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
* A current driving licence with access to a form of transport.
