Job summary We are looking for qualified, experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated GPs to complement our established team in the Urgent Treatment Centre. The Urgent Treatment Centre provides urgent medical treatment of acute illness and will give successful candidates the chance to work directly with colleagues in Emergency Medicine to further enhance their clinical skills. The GP role will be at the forefront of service provision and integral in supporting the multidisciplinary team in the provision and delivery of prompt, safe and timely intervention. The centre is open 0800-0000, 7 days a week, including weekends and Bank Holidays with a variety of shifts available. The post holder will provide professional leadership, clinical expertise and manage same day presentations of patients to ESNEFTs Urgent and Emergency Care Centre in Ipswich.As a GP in the service youll be based in a fast pace dynamic environment and work in partnership with primary and secondary care colleagues, as well as other agencies, to secure a smooth patient journey across the whole patient pathway. The post holder will also act as a role model while promoting clinical effectiveness and delivering outstanding clinical practice. Main duties of the job Provide clinical care to patients accessing the UTC. This will include consultation sessions, referring onwards and directing patients to self-care and community pharmacy wherever appropriate to do so. Work closely with the wider teams in delivering high quality patient centred clinical care. Ensure on-going CPD to keep abreast of new clinical developments and maintain an appreciation of the commitments and requirements of the wider clinical workforce. Prescribe generically for all patients as appropriate to need and if non-generics utilised be able to provide appropriate clinical rationale working in partnership with medicines management colleagues. Provide appropriate health promotion and preventative health care advice to all patients attending the Service. Engage in the revalidation process and appraisal processes as relevant. Provide data regarding performance against key performance indicators for the role.
