This Band 7 post's main objective is to really focus our service on the professional growth of all our staff - and to inspire students on placement and apprentices to learn all the clinical skills and competencies they need to be a fantastic podiatrist/podiatry assistant in today's busy NHS environment.
50% of your time will be working in the High-Risk foot/ulcer clinics doing the advanced clinical work of a Band 7 podiatrist - and the other 50% will be devoted to the Education Lead/Mentor role.

Main Duties of the Job
The postholder will take a lead role in delivering a variety of educational programmes across the service, including but not limited to:
* University Student Placement and Work Experience Lead
* Podiatry Apprenticeship Programme Lead
* New Starter Induction, Training, and Development Lead
* Preceptor Link/Lead
* Education and Development of Qualified Staff, including promoting Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities
* Management of Service Study Leave Guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and associated processes
* Lead/Link for Learning & Development (L&D) Team
In addition, you will work as a qualified, specialist Band 7 podiatrist with HCPC registration, providing expert clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for foot, ankle, and related conditions. The primary focus will be improving mobility, reducing pain, and maintaining tissue viability for patients eligible for NHS podiatry services in Oxfordshire, with a particular emphasis on managing the HIGH RISK foot.

Job Responsibilities
Applications are invited from motivated BSc qualified and HCPC registered podiatrists with NHS experience who are keen to advance their clinical, professional and leadership skills. Clinicians with little leadership experience but who show enthusiasm to develop their clinical career in this area are also encouraged to apply.
This post is based in South Oxfordshire, and the post holder will also be required to visit patients' homes, attend meetings or training across the wider county. Own car is essential.

Experience
Essential:
* Post-graduate NHS work experience including experience treating high risk patients
* Teaching/training of colleagues/students/health care professionals/patients/public
* Comprehensive working knowledge of NHS podiatry service provision
Desirable:
* Ability to interpret X-ray films
* Prescriber status or evidence of understanding of relevant common prescription medicines
* Mentorship/teaching ability to support the development of Specialist Podiatrists (Band 6) and Podiatrists (Band 5)
Qualifications
Essential:
* MA/MSc or equivalent level of academic ability/experience
* BSc Podiatry (or diploma in Podiatric Medicine with equivalent experience)
* HCPC registration
* Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable:
* Relevant postgraduate certificates or postgraduate diploma (or to be achieved within agreed timescale)
* C&G teaching certificate
Skills
Essential:
