The Role: Occupational Therapy Assistant (Interim) The Salary: £22,356 / pa Hours: 37 hrs/week T he Occupational Therapy Team is based at our main site in Mirfield, West Yorkshire as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team which includes Teachers, Physiotherapists, Speech & Language Therapists, Nurses, Enrichment & Social Care colleagues. All our services are unique, being tailored to suit the needs of young people and adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities and physical disabilities, and our teams work hard to ensure that the standards of care and support are consistent and of high quality. This role includes supporting Occupational Therapists across a range of tasks to improve or maintain the independence and safety of children, young people & adults we support. You will have a pivotal role in delivering therapeutic interventions following an assessment by a therapist. This could include direct work with the child / young person / adult, being involved with training for residential and school staff or updating relevant documentation. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated individual to work across children & adult services and complement our professional and supportive team. You will be self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team. You will receive support from the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist and a team of experienced & well-established colleagues. We have a genuine commitment to training and development and post holders are expected to develop themselves professionally in line with both current and future service needs and requirements. The successful candidate will have access to regular supervision and training and be encouraged to participate in a variety of development opportunities including providing support for students. In addition to our main site in Mirfield we also have a small number of homes in West & South Yorkshire which you will be required to visit occasionally therefore it is a requirement that the applicant holds a full driving licence and is a car driver.
