An exciting opportunity has arisen for applications for a full time Senior Support Worker to join an enthusiastic and dynamic Recovery Focussed Team in North Lincolnshire.
We work in the Community with people aged 18 and over experiencing Mental Health problems including complex emotional needs and psychosis, and with their permission, family and friends.
Our aim is to support recovery, social inclusion and maintain an enhanced quality of life. The post holder will be central to this process, developing therapeutic relationships with support and time utilising creative approaches to achieve the best outcomes.
RDaSH are offering this post along side the opportunity for you to complete an apprenticeship qualification [relevant to your role]. As an apprentice within RDaSH you will be given the opportunity to gain experience, learn work-related skills and obtain all the tools needed to thrive.
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. Around 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying. This leads to a nationally recognised qualification.
Whether you already work for us or are joining the Trust and NHS for the first time, apprenticeships can help you to develop the skills, knowledge and know-how in order to embark on a successful and fulfilling career within the health service.
The post holder will also be involved in a range of health promotion activities targeting stigma and raising awareness of mental health issues. As well as physical health checks and monitoring.
In return we can offer a friendly and supportive multi disciplinary approach and environment in which to develop, through training opportunities and regular supervision.
We cover a large geographical area with much of it rural, it is essential that you can travel throughout the locality to work with people in their own homes where needed.
• To be responsible for an allocated number of individual service users, assisting and contributing to the planning, implementation and review of care plans
• To be able to participate along with service users in a range of meaningful therapeutic activities following clinical specialist assessment such as supportive advice, education and support health promotion and self-care
• To support service users to understand and manage their mental health needs in line with their care plan. This may include supporting people to access other resources or services when necessary to maximise the most appropriate use of all community resource
• To assess immediate risk in line with Trust policies and to manage this effectively by alerting the appropriate staff involved in the client’s care
• To maintain accurate confidential written and electronic records and activity data in line with Trust policies and procedures
