In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring our financial debt plans are effectively linked to credit risk strategies and operational execution. You will oversee key performance indicators, high-level reporting, and management information to ensure debt performance aligns with company targets. Collaborating closely with finance and data science teams, you will take ownership of credit risk forecasting, external data partnerships, and shaping the long-term debt strategy. Key Responsibilities Drive Debt Performance: Ensure financial debt plans are effectively translated into operational execution across the business. Data-Driven Insights: Develop a holistic data strategy to optimize performance, enhance customer experience, and reduce costs. High-Level Reporting: Own and deliver executive and board-level reports on debt performance, ensuring data is presented in a compelling and actionable way. Credit Risk Modelling: Partner with the data science team to define and sign off on credit risk modelling requirements. Strategic Partnerships: Manage relationships with credit bureaus and external data providers, overseeing multi-million-pound agreements. Innovation & Best Practice: Identify and implement best practices in energy debt models, provisioning, and planning processes. Leadership & Growth: Develop a strong succession plan and position yourself for future opportunities at a senior leadership level. What You'll Need to Succeed Proven experience in debt portfolio management, credit risk, or financial planning, ideally within energy, water, telecoms, or financial services. Strong financial and commercial acumen, with experience working alongside finance teams and forecasting credit risk at a senior level. Ability to engage with senior stakeholders, including board-level reporting and presentations. Technical expertise: Experience with Tableau (critical), SQL, Python, Databricks, and Google Suite/Microsoft collaboration tools. Strategic mindset, with the ability to balance day-to-day execution with long-term vision and innovation.
