We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated, and inspiring Band 5 Staff Nurse / preceptorship Nurse to join our team on Coral Ward. We are a 19 bedded ward based in Langley Green Hospital in Crawley. Crawley is situated closely to London and Brighton and benefits from a thriving, vibrant and diverse community. Coral Ward has an experienced team and works collaboratively with other wards and services within the hospital and the wider community.

This post offers the Trust's £4,000 Incentive for band 5-7 Nurses & Practitioners, as well as a relocation package up to a maximum of £8,000 (subject to terms and conditions).
Main duties of the job
As a staff nurse / preceptorship nurse, your responsibilities will be to:
* Uphold our core values of promoting openness, transparency and learning.
* Effectively run the shift and attend regular meetings to review and monitor patients' care plans.
* Build relationships with patients to encourage trust, while listening to and interpreting their needs and concerns.
* Ensure the correct administration of medication, including injections, and monitor side effects.
* Accurately record patient information and communicate with other MDT staff regarding patient care needs.
* Offer support and supervise the practice of junior staff and student Nurses in order to ensure safe and effective nursing practice within a secure environment.
* Perform administrative duties, involved in the screening, assessment and follow up support of patients.
* Provide care and support to patients and families and work effectively as part of the wider Multidisciplinary team.
Work a flexible shift pattern which includes Long Days (07:00 - 19:30) and Nights (19:00 - 07:30) including weekends and bank holidays.

* Registered Nurse with current registration (mental health / LD/ Adult) appropriate to the job role.
Knowledge/Experience

* Knowledge of MHA (1983/2007).
* Knowledge of Mental Capacity Act (2005), to include practical knowledge of FACE documentation, DOLS and Best Interest decisions.
* Child and Adult safeguarding procedures.
* Change management, organising and prioritising workloads.
* Demonstrate ability to enhance care through evidence-based knowledge.
* Demonstrate professional development relevant to the care group.
