About the role
Bury Library Service is looking to recruit a part-time Community Library Assistant for 17 hours per week. The successful candidate will work on Tuesday 9:30 - 4:30, Wednesday 9:30 - 4:30, and Saturday 9:00 - 1:00, primarily at Bury Library, but will be expected to cover other libraries in the borough.
Do you have a lively and enthusiastic personality; a love of books; experience using IT applications; excellent customer care skills; and enjoy working with children and people of all ages and backgrounds? If so, we want to hear from you.
Reporting to the Library Supervisors, you will assist in delivering a comprehensive range of library and public information services. This will include cash handling, assisting customers with digital queries, shelving books, and other library duties.
Evidence of working with the public and dealing with customer inquiries is essential. You will be working as part of a team, so you must have good interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to assist and support customers and external partners.
