Key Responsibilities:
* Assess clients’ physical, emotional, and social needs to develop personalized treatment plans aimed at improving their ability to perform daily tasks.
* Use a range of therapeutic techniques to help clients overcome physical and mental challenges, building their confidence and independence.
* Educate clients and their families on strategies and adaptive techniques to support daily living activities.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, and social workers, to provide a comprehensive approach to client care.
* Monitor and document client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure positive outcomes.
* Advocate for clients, helping them access necessary resources, equipment, and support services.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
* Current registration with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council).
* Knowledge and experience in working with a variety of client needs, including physical disabilities, mental health issues, and developmental challenges.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a person-centered approach to therapy.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
Preferred Skills:
* Experience with specific populations, such as pediatric, geriatric, or mental health clients.
* Additional certifications in areas like sensory integration, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), or hand therapy.
* Familiarity with adaptive equipment and assistive technology.
