Job Description Summary:

The Risk strategy, enabled by the Prudential & Analytics (P&A) Platform, is key to creating this shift for the Group.
P&A is to ensure Regulatory compliance is met for all activities within scope of Prudential & Analytics (P&A) platform and Transform Regulatory and Analytical capability across key technology enablers including data, modelling, reporting and infrastructure.
About this Opportunity:
A great opportunity has arisen to be part of a team within P&A platform as a Lab Engineering Lead. You will oversee all aspects of the engineering lifecycle, from technology design and architecture through to implementation and optimization, ensuring the infrastructure supports critical regulatory, prudential, and risk analytics functions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Engineering Leadership:
o Lead the engineering team responsible for building and maintaining the end-to-end infrastructure and own the technology transformation of maintaining and decommissioning legacy platforms and GCP-based data infrastructure for the Prudential and Analytics Platform.
o Provide technical direction and ensure that engineering best practices are followed, from architecture through to implementation and testing.
2. Cloud Infrastructure Design and Optimization:
o Design and architect scalable, high-performance cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
o Ensure that the platform is designed for high availability, resilience, and performance, with a focus on security and compliance with banking regulations.
3. End-to-End Engineering Delivery:
o Oversee the end-to-end delivery of engineering projects, from requirements gathering to deployment and post-production support.
4. Data Infrastructure and Analytics Integration:
o Work closely with data scientists and risk analysts to build and maintain the data pipelines and infrastructure.
5. Security, Governance, and Compliance:
o Ensure that the infrastructure is compliant with internal and external regulatory requirements.
6. Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:
o Work closely with product owners, risk management teams, and enterprise architects to gather business requirements.
7. Continuous Innovation and Improvement:
o Stay updated on the latest GCP services and best practices.
Key Qualifications:
* Extensive experience in leading engineering teams in the development of cloud-based data platforms.
* Deep understanding of cloud architecture, data engineering, data pipelines, and big data technologies.
Desired Experience and Skills:
* 10+ years of experience in software development and cloud engineering and leadership roles.
