Monarch Education is seeking an experienced Caretaker for a primary school in North Birmingham. This full time role includes key holder responsibilities, requiring split shifts to manage both the opening and closing of the school site 06.30-11.00 and 3pm-6pm.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, self-motivated and be able to work independently demonstrating a positive and helpful attitude. This position would be ideal for a local resident who wants to be a part of a thriving school community. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of site maintenance, health and safety regulations as you will be required to carry out weekly statutory checks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carrying out general repair and maintenance as needed
* Installing shelving, display boards and minor fittings
* Supervising on-site contractors
* Conducting routine inspections
* Moving and arranging furniture
* General DIY tasks
* Maintaining the school grounds to a high standard
* Clearing rubbish, leaves, ice, and snow as necessary and ensuring the site is safe for all staff, students, parents and visitors at all times
* Replenishing stock
* Carrying out tasks given by the Senior Leadership Team
* Inspecting school playgrounds daily
* Ensuring a high level of site security
* Working with cleaning staff to uphold excellent cleanliness and safety standards
* To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required, which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job
