We’re looking for a Debt Claims Handler to join our Blume Business Solutions team in Bradford (BD4) on a permanent basis – Hybrid working minimum 2 days office based.
Joining our growing Legal team as we expand our services, the Debt Claims Handler will be responsible for managing your own portfolio of debt recovery cases using a case management system. Utilising current legislation and case law to provide options and solutions to enable a strong recovery rate of legal costs. Some of the cases you will handle range from straightforward recoveries requiring quick commercial decisions to detailed analyses of terms and conditions and business processes to determine possible recovery outcomes and provide advice accordingly.
This role is ideal for a legal paralegal seeking to work in a growing department, an experienced debt handler looking for their next challenge, a recent graduate, or someone aiming to qualify as a lawyer or already on their qualification journey.
What will you be doing?
* Manage a portfolio of outstanding debt matters to maximise recoveries.
* Review contracts and terms & conditions to advise clients on prospects.
* Contact debtors via telephone regarding outstanding balances.
* Utilise automation and a case management system to efficiently progress matters.
* Handle cases in line with key performance indicators to meet established service level agreements.
* Review documentation, summarise key points, assess risks versus benefits, and report to collaborators, customers, partners, and team members as needed.
* Raise important issues or concerns with the line manager and seek assistance and direction when needed.
* Provide flexibility to support the operating model and ensure consistent service delivery.
We tend to look for people with:
Essential
* Working knowledge of Microsoft products.
* Experience of using case management systems.
* Exceptional attention to detail and strong communication skills via email and phone.
Preferred
* Experience working in a Telecoms environment.
* Legal qualification/s
* Knowledge of the law and experience of case handling
Training and Development
This role is eligible for the solicitor apprenticeship which we offer in collaboration with the University of Law.
