Science Teacher for a Bradford Secondary School required to start in April or September 2025.
The Teacher of Science is responsible for their pupils’ academic progress and will:
* Ensure that pupils are taught in line with the subject specific schemes of work and examination specifications
* Adhere to whole school expectations with regard to assessment, marking, teaching and learning
* Keep records of assessments, marking and attendance of pupils
The Teacher of Science will follow the guidelines for:
* High quality teaching, knowing groups, marking and assessing work
* Classroom management
* Implement any recommendations for improvement in teaching or administration
* Ensure that coursework deadlines and internal and external exam arrangements are adhered to and clearly communicated to pupils
The Teacher of Science will have:
* Degree and Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent
* Evidence of continuing professional development and a willingness for further development as appropriate
* Consistent achievement of good or outstanding grades for teaching
* Clear understanding of the requirements of the curriculum in Science
* Demonstrate excellent working relationships
* Experience of teaching Science across the age and ability range of a secondary school
* Ability to communicate effectively with pupils, staff and parents
* Ability to perform tasks that require attention to detail
* Awareness of target setting, monitoring and relevant assessment procedures
* Ability to relate to pupils and to evaluate and enhance pupils’ achievement in its widest sense
* The ability to use different teaching approaches in response to pupils’ learning needs; including innovative approaches to enrich the pupil experience
* Ability to use ICT and identify and develop the use of software in Science
* Two school based references
* Right to work in the UK
* Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for one
