Job overview
The primary role of the Senior Maternity Support Worker (MSW) is to assist, support and work in collaboration with the midwife and the wider multidisciplinary team; to provide a safe and holistic approach to women-centered care.
The Clinical Lead MSW for Recruitment and Retention will predominantly be working in the clinical setting to support, guide and teach the MSW workforce across both the inpatient and outpatient settings. They will identify ways to improve the well-being of the MSW workforce and participate in any initiatives put in place to support this.
The postholder will provide support to existing and new maternity healthcare assistants and support workers and provide ongoing learning and development opportunities.
The post holder will be responsible for participating in the recruitment process, organisation and support during induction programmes for newly appointed staff, support with the Fundamentals of Care Certificate as well as ongoing development of existing staff.
To act as a role model, displaying the Trust Values and promoting positive behaviours within the MSW workforce.

Person specification
Education
* GCSE maths and English grade A-C / Functional Skills level 2
* Foundation Degree with midwifery pathway (completed at least 1st year)
* Care certificate
Experience
* Minimum 12 months experience of working within UK maternity services
* Experience working as an MSW in both the inpatient and outpatient environment
* Evidence of displaying Trust values at all times
