We are currently looking to recruit an Electrical Supervisor on a Permanent basis to join the team covering the UK and Ireland.
How can you make a difference?
The main purpose of the Electrical Supervisor role is to provide electrical expertise during the installation and finishing phase of our projects in order to prepare the Wind Turbine Generator or Wind Farm for commissioning.
What will you be doing?
Key responsibilities for this role include:
1. Inspect, control and supervise the respective electrical installations inside and adjacent to a Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) according to the relevant instructions for the WTG, including any Technical Notifications and Safety Alerts.
2. Control and supervise all activities relating to the installation and connection of the SCADA communication system, ensuring it is prepared for commissioning by energisation and verification of telecom connections.
3. Ensuring compliance with general Nordex HSE regulations and specific HSE regulations for construction sites.
4. Performing all electrical work on-site with respect to the five basic electrical safety rules.
5. Ensuring proactive quality throughout the installation and finishing process.
6. Assisting the site manager in QG1 inspections on delivery to the site.
7. Performing the Q-Gate 23 checklist by applying the respective quality checklist.
8. Participating actively at daily and weekly site meetings organised by the site manager.
9. Supervising and controlling subcontractor activities during the commissioning and testing phase to ensure timely results.
10. Coordinating with the site manager regarding the activities related to switch-on and switch-off operations.
11. Ensuring all personnel are clear of WTG’s prior to switching operations.
12. Conducting quality deviations occurring during installation and finishing.
What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will have significant experience working with WTG’s and be certified as a qualified electrician or qualified electrical worker. You will have experience with low, medium and high voltage component systems and have switching operation authorisation. You will have completed GWO approved training in Working at Heights, Manual Handling, First Aid, and Fire Awareness, and have also completed Rescue at Heights training. IOSH and NEBOSH qualifications would also be desirable.
You will have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and engineers and display systematic problem-solving and safety-oriented behaviour. The successful candidate must be able to lead a team when required and can explain complex technical issues to clients, customers, and our teams. Computer literacy, especially with MS Office packages, is also critical to this role.
This role will require the successful candidate to have the motivation to work on remote sites across the UK & Ireland, and you will be away from home approximately 60% of the time during the year. This role also requires you to have a full UK/EU Driving Licence and to be physically fit as you will be required to climb WTG’s (Chester step test).
