Job overview
The Neuroscience Research Team is looking to recruit a Band 6 Clinical Research Nurse to support a multitude of medical research portfolios including Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease studies. The role will involve providing support for studies primarily based at Charing Cross Hospital, Fulham Palace Road, Hammersmith.
The research nurse role includes study delivery, support, and management from the setup phase through to dissemination of research findings, in addition to the recruitment, education, and monitoring of research participants, completing clinical assessments, and accurate collection and documentation of research data. This role emphasizes research integration within the clinical setting here at Imperial, focusing on patient advocacy throughout the research process.
Prior knowledge of research and/or knowledge within the specialist clinical areas would be advantageous for the post, as would venepuncture and/or cannulation skills – required for the post.

Main duties of the job
1. Assessing and managing the care pathways for patients and carers participating in research.
2. Recruitment, education, and monitoring of research participants and the collection and documentation of accurate data.
3. Working collaboratively with the research team and the wider multidisciplinary team in managing your own caseload of research patients.
4. Acting as a knowledgeable resource for staff, researchers, research participants, and patients, alongside a working knowledge and compliance with local, national, and international research regulations.
5. Contributing to the development of local policies related to all aspects of the research process and contributing to the training and supervision of staff and researchers.
6. Contributing to nurse-led research.

* Relevant experience at band 5 within a relevant specialty.
