Our work varies from constructing viewer experiences in teams’ hospitality suites, paddock, garages and factories elevating each of the 24 races a year. We work closely with our suppliers to deliver pioneering technology and integrate innovation into all of the work we do.
Live Wire provides AV technology for all genres of events including Festivals, Concerts, Conferences, Theatre and Dance. We work with large concert halls in London such as Southbank Centre, Barbican, Sadlers Wells to provide technicians, support and Equipment.
Job Description:
A Live Wire Simulator Technician will be responsible for planning, building and working with high-specification simulation architecture, globally, on a wide range of events. We cater to a large range of clients, building simulators for multiple Formula One teams, individual businesses and the private sector. Live Wire Simulators is a growing business and this is a unique opportunity to help design and contribute to the future of our simulator catalogue. Our schedule can be flexible, with design and fabrication happening in the United Kingdom, before building and commission happening anywhere in the world. This opportunity is guest-facing and you must be comfortable talking to clients, coaching guests and occasionally helping professional drivers understand our technology. Responsibilities:
* Plan, deliver and execute high profile simulator events, working alongside world class drivers and high-profile guests.
* Coach drivers to become better on track, explaining racing principles and improvement techniques.
* Operate networked control systems for multi-sim set-ups.
* Writing debriefs for clients following each event, making clear action points and ideas for improvements.
* Cultivating and maintaining positive relationships with our clients and building new partnerships to expand business.
* Excellent communication skills, working effectively with the wider team on track and back in the UK.
* Maintenance of our simulators globally, installing upgrades and cleaning delicate components. Good attention to detail.
Requirements:
* 2 years of experience driving, operating or building race cars / simulators.
* Preferably a diploma or degree in Motorsport Engineering or equivalent
* Strong understanding of racing principles, driving techniques and car set-up
* Confident speaker, fluent in English and able to speak to a diverse range of people
* Experience of networked systems
* Confident in varying computer systems, including but not limited to Windows and Mac
* A good level of physical fitness, happy to lift and construct sim equipment
