The Role
As a critical role to support the growth of our business, we are recruiting a Business Development Manager, reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer.
This role is fundamental to delivering the overall strategy of our business, by sourcing the revenue streams that will enable Nature restoration across the country, and potentially beyond. You’ll work closely with external partners and clients, who may also include commercial and housing property developers.
The ideal candidate has 5-10 years B2B Sales and Business Development experience within a dynamic operating landscape. They are a people person, who loves to develop and nurture lasting relationships. This candidate likes to win, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes. They also possess a strategic mindset and are excited about the opportunity to shape the future of an early-stage, purpose-led business.

Responsibilities
You will:
* Manage the day to day requirements with existing clients including contracting, relationship building, marketing support and inventory management
* Research, develop and convert a healthy sales pipeline for our Biodiversity Net Gains (BNG) business
* Work collaboratively with external partners to ensure they are aligned to and achieving our common goals
* Support the CCO in developing the longer term commercial strategy for the business, including broader Natural Capital sales and alternative revenue streams
* Drive ongoing engagement with clients and partners, including but not limited to networking events, Nattergal Open Days, Volunteering etc.
Role Requirements:
* Proven experience in sales or business development, ideally with a good knowledge of Natural Capital markets
* Strong track record of building a sales pipeline and executing high value deals
* Exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills, which will be channelled to nurture strategic client relationships
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Comfortable with ambiguity and willing to work and develop your career in a growing startup, understanding the challenges and opportunities that brings
* A self-starter who is proactive, curious and has a keen eye for detail
* A keen interest in Nature and the environment
* Knowledge of Nature frameworks (TNFD / SBTN) a plus
