Join Our Team as an Interventions Teaching Assistant – Starting April 2025
Location: Newport, South Wales
Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay: Minimum £89 per day (£12.90+ per hour)
Start Date: April 2025

Teaching Personnel is proud to partner with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Newport that’s seeking an Interventions Teaching Assistant to join their team in April 2025. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to support children 1:1 and in small groups, helping to unlock their full potential both academically and emotionally.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Deliver targeted support to pupils with ALN and behavioural needs, both 1:1 and in small groups.
2. Assist in developing literacy and numeracy skills through engaging and personalized learning approaches.
3. Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child feels supported.
4. Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs, and fellow support staff to deliver consistent, impactful interventions.
5. Build strong, trusting relationships with students, parents, and staff.
6. Adapt to the evolving needs of the classroom, using initiative and flexibility throughout the school day.
7. Ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils in your care.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Registered with the EWC (Education Workforce Council) – or willing to register.
2. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (Child Workforce) – support with application available.
3. Able to provide 2 professional references covering the last 24 months.
4. A calm, proactive, and resilient individual who thrives in a dynamic environment.
5. Previous experience supporting ALN, behavioural needs, or working in educational settings is highly desirable.
