Risk Management Division (RMD) in Finance Group defines the Department’s Risk Management Framework that sets the standards and describes the culture that enables the consistent understanding, escalation and management of risks to the Department’s objectives.
We focus on supporting management of risk to assist DWP in meeting its objectives, taking proper account of cost, benefits and proportionality. To ensure consistency with DWP’s Risk Management Framework, the team provides support to fully embed the practice of effective risk management.

You will report to the Risk Management Business Partner (SEO) who will support you in developing strong, cross-departmental stakeholder relationships to build understanding for your work and that of the wider RMD function.
You will develop an assurance map of the Department by mapping the key business processes, frameworks, and lines of assurance to support business area assurance; identify gaps and areas of weakness in those business processes; and support the development of mitigating actions to help inform risk-based decision making.
You will work with Departmental Risk leads to collate the latest risk registers to provide an aggregated view of risks across the Department; analyse the risk data to understand the trends to inform the latest risk position; visualise and present data into the appropriate reporting formats to aid understanding and inform decision making at senior leadership forums e.g. Risk Assurance Board.
You will support the maintenance and updating of the RMD intranet and will be responsible for implementing updates commissioned by the RMD Senior Leadership Team to ensure our customers have easy access to the latest advice and training on risk management.
