Job summary East London CAMHS Alternative to Admissions Pathway have recently been successful in securing funding to enable to provision of a Specialist DBT-A service pilot. The pilot is initially funded for 12 months, however with strong clinical evidence of effectiveness there is opportunity to extend this funding substantively. We seek to recruit a dedicated professional who will be expected to join a team who is passionate to support young people and families with high levels of emotional dysregulation. The Service will offer comprehensive DBT treatment for adolescents. This will include assessment, pre-treatment, treatment and consultation for Adolescents that are supported by the local community CAMHS services within Newham, Tower Hamlets, City and Hackney. Full treatment comprises eight months (up to a year if the treatment is effective and an extension is agreed) long treatment and includes weekly individual therapy sessions, weekly multifamily skills groups, parenting sessions and family sessions, and access to telephone skills coaching. Clinicians will also join the DBT consult weekly. The service is operational Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, working closely with community CAMHS and sister services within the Alternative to Admissions Pathway to support young people through their journey to recovery. The East London CAMHS DBT Service comprises Specialist DBT Therapists; a DBT Clinical Team Lead and an Assistant Psychologist. Main duties of the job 1. Building effective working relationships with service users, carers, colleagues and partnership agencies. 2. Working autonomously within professional guidelines to undertake specialist assessments and provide comprehensive Dialectical Behaviour Therapy to users of community mental health services who are experiencing complex emotional needs associated with symptoms of the diagnostic criteria of moderate to severe 'personality disorder'. 3. Providing consultation, advice, and support to community-based colleagues within the East London aimed at improving the care that is delivered to people with complex emotional needs in accordancewith national directives, NICE guidance, and Trust values, policies and procedures. 4. Providing supervision to colleagues in the DBT service and participate in team consultations. 5. Providing DBT training to raise awareness of how to work effectively with people with complex emotional needs within the service, the organisation and the wider East London integrated care system. 6. Contributing to clinical governance by measuring the effectiveness of interventions and service user satisfaction in accordance with service and Trust values and policies. 8. Ensuring that Trust values and principles of co-production are central to service delivery, training, and service development. 9. Utilising research skills for audit, policy and service development as agreed with the Service Manager of the Alternative to Admissions Service.
