This is a rare opportunity to step into a Central Assistant Head-Teacher role, where you'll play a pivotal part in supporting staff, enhancing teaching standards, and building on our culture of collaboration and well-being across our schools. You'll work closely with the CEO, school leaders, and staff to ensure our Trust's vision and values are at the heart of everything we do. Welfare:
1. To be our Trust Mental Health First Aider, offering 1:1 sessions and drop-ins at each school.
2. Coordinate safe space sessions for DSLs and SLTs across the Trust with our external providers.
3. Organise social events to help people across the trust get to know each other.
Teaching Support:
1. To drive up standards by team teaching and in-class coaching.
2. To observe teaching and carry out thematic work to explore patterns across the Trust.
3. To observe all UPS teachers (at least once a year) and report to the CEO & trustees.
4. To participate in Annual Peer reviews.
5. To work with the trust EA to organise the Trust-wide fortnightly 30-minute CPD Snapshots.
Leadership:
1. To contribute to the half-term CEO summary letters to our schools.
2. To be the Executive lead at the Education & Standards committee & on some policies.
3. To act as Trust HQ DDSL & EVC.
4. To analyse the termly data drops at each school and provide a written summary of MAT trends.
5. Attend (and deputise) termly CEO Pupil Progress meetings & offer support/interventions.
Ethos:
1. Lead and champion the Trust-wide pro-social Behaviour system, organising & promoting earned rewards and maintaining a central bank of activities to keep pupils engaged.
2. Ensure each school has an up-to-date, vibrant, informative & relevant Trust display.
3. Lead, oversee & run key initiatives, including The Pupil Senate (and senate trip), CEO for the Day, Annual Vision & Values Day, Year 5 Careers Fair, International Women's Day celebrations, Termly Year 6 team-building activities, Trust-wide pupil treats (e.g., silent discos, craft sessions, books).
Training we can provide:
Mental health first aid, EVC, DSL, Sonar, classroom coaching.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. A degree, Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a proven track record of strong teaching.
2. Experience in a leadership role within a school setting (e.g., subject lead, phase leader, or assistant head).
3. Experience in analysing data and using it to drive school improvement.
4. Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.

2. Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives.
3. A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting staff well-being and mental health.

Desirable Criteria:
1. Experience working across multiple schools or within a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT).
2. Demonstrable experience in coaching, mentoring, or supporting staff development.
3. Knowledge of mental health first aid or a willingness to undertake training.
4. Experience in organising and leading events or initiatives.
5. Familiarity with curriculum development and purpose-driven teaching.
6. Experience in coordinating educational visits (EVC) or willingness to train.
7. Experience as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or willingness to train.
8. NPQ.
