We are seeking a part time Deputy Head of Non- Medical Undergraduate Education, Apprenticeships & Widening Participation Manager post within our Trust.
Essentially we are looking for a leader who encourages and motivates, who is inclusive and creative, able to meet the exacting standards of Undergraduate non medical education, Apprenticeships and Widening Participation..
The role is supportive of someone who can focus on the here and now, whilst having vision for the future, supporting transformation and the ever changing needs to deliver the best possible services and outcomes for our service uses and the communities we serve. Responsible for the operational management and commissioning of clinical placements for undergraduate non medical education students, apprenticeships working in partnerships with HEI's, ICB, external providers etc.
Building the Trust’s capability and capacity by driving and improving skills and standards through education.
Developing and promoting a culture of learning & development which enables the Trust to continuously improve all services.
Apply expert knowledge in interpreting recent and anticipated changes in national and local policies regarding apprenticeships, non medical undergraduate education, T Levels, Work Experience etc.
Maximise the use of the Apprenticeship Levy, and effective use of the non medical education tariff funding working with Finance BP to ensure full utilization is managed across the Trust in line with NHSE Funding Agreement 2024-2027.
Lead the development of regular updating of Trust policies and procedures committee as required in relation to the use of apprenticeships, non medical education, including securing approval from Trust executive.
Lead on development of Health Care Support Worker development programme, including but not exclusive to, HCSW induction, Care Certificate, and operational lead for Trainee Nursing Associate and BSc Nursing Apprenticeships and associated programme placements.
Pro-actively influence and negotiate when required with colleagues in the Trust of the new opportunities that there may be for the use of apprenticeships, applying expert knowledge of apprenticeships and workforce redesign coupled with significant change management skills where there may be resistance or reluctance on the part of service/department leads
