An opportunity has arisen at Royal Lancaster Infirmary for a Non Clinical Support Worker on the Emergency Department. University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Foundation Trust provides acute hospital care to the local population. We would invite candidates who want to help us make a difference for our patients.
Main duties of the job
You will work in conjunction with all staff in order to maintain a clean and safe environment and ensure housekeeping jobs are completed in a satisfactory manner. This job involves transporting patients around the department to radiology and to the admitting ward. This also entails:
* Co-ordinating all patient facilities services within the ward area
* Ensuring that the ward is a safe, clean, tidy and comfortable environment
* Ensuring that food is available to meet the patients’ needs
* Assisting the ward staff to receive, welcome and guide patients and visitors onto the ward
* Assisting in the preparation of bed areas on discharge of patients
* Assisting nursing staff with the feeding of patients who are unable to do so for themselves and completing food charts where necessary
* Ensuring all patients are afforded privacy and dignity throughout their stay
* Ensuring that there is an adequate linen supply throughout the day
* Responding to health emergencies as appropriate
