Job Overview This role plays a key part in coordinating care for cancer patients undergoing diagnostic endoscopy. The primary focus is supporting the Faster Diagnostic Standards (FDS) for patients referred to Frimley Health by local GPs, internal services, and other trusts. Working under the guidance of the Endoscopy Service Manager and Deputy Service Manager, and in collaboration with the cancer team, the post holder will help ensure timely diagnosis for patients with suspected gastrointestinal (GI) cancer. Key responsibilities include managing the patient pathway from referral through endoscopy to diagnosis—either confirming cancer or ruling it out. Additionally, the post holder will support the collection and recording of national audit data for cancer patients, contributing to the FDS and the Self-Supported Management Programme (SSMP). Main duties of the job Co-ordinate care by providing a seamless pathway for all FDS patients ensuring we meet the Faster diagnostic pathway. Targets to be met for OGD’s, Colonoscopy and Flexible Sigmoidoscopy. To liaise with all patients booking their Diagnostic procedure, ensuring that they have their bowel prep on time and that all patients are called and confirmed to reduce DNA rates and ensure the patient comes in within the FDS targeted pathway. The post holder will also provide information to patients and service users regarding support available during their cancer pathway.
