We are now looking for a Student Recruitment Outreach Manager to join our Carmarthen or Swansea campus on a Full time, Permanent basis, working 37 hours per week., The Student Recruitment Outreach Manager is responsible for supporting the delivery of student recruitment targets and the University's Widening Access Plan.
This new role will develop, manage and evaluate innovative outreach activities and events. The aim being to encourage people regardless of their background, to consider higher education as a viable option and make UWTSD their preferred choice. There will be a strong focus on enquiry generation and management, recruitment events and improving the pre-enrolment student journey.
The Student Recruitment Outreach Manager will manage and guide their team to successfully deliver their targets by working collaboratively with University colleagues and external partners in secondary and primary schools, further education colleges, community groups, and the third sector.
The post holder will liaise with colleagues in other universities to provide strategic coordination of UWTSD's Reaching Wider activities across South West Wales, which are a fundamental deliverable of the Widening Access Plan.
This role will also be required to spend its time travelling around the region, including overnight stays and evening/weekend work. The primary location will be in either Carmarthen or Swansea. However, the post holder may also be required to visit other UWTSD campuses in Wales to provide advice and guidance to colleagues., Please note, this application process does not include the option to submit a CV. To be considered as a Student Recruitment Outreach Manager, you will need:
* A degree level qualification or equivalent
* Professional marketing qualification or other related field and / or extensive experience of working with young people in an educational setting
* Previous experience of working in a recruitment or outreach environment
* Demonstrable line management and project management experience
* Experience of presenting to high level audiences
* Networking, negotiating and influencing skills with senior stakeholders
* Evidence of capability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Ability to apply attention to detail
* Excellent IT skills
* Previous experience of working in Higher Education
* Experience of managing a budget
* Able to work as part of a team, in partnership with others, and unsupervised
* Recognises the need for and demonstrates appropriate confidentiality
* Able and prepared to work flexibly, including travel between campuses and other locations when required.
It would also be beneficial if you have:
* Ability to communicate at a high level through the medium of Welsh - oral and written
* Knowledge of effective communication practices and experience of drafting engaging bilingual marketing material
