The successful candidate will join a busy, well-established multi-disciplinary practice embedded within a local authority. The team currently has an opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to work with them on a permanent basis.
This position would ideally suit a practitioner working towards graduation in a relevant subject or with substantial experience in a commercial or local authority practice looking for a new challenge.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of quantity surveying services for the delivery of the Council’s Capital and Revenue investment programme. Provide effective cost advice and information to a variety of stakeholders. Ultimately contributing to the successful provision of a multi-disciplinary building construction consultancy service.
The position will involve a client facing role and so good communication skills and experience at presenting is a must. You'll also assist the Principal and Assistant Principal Quantity Surveyors within the team and may be expected to deputise for them on occasion.
The position will involve a role within the whole design process, and the successful candidate will be expected to provide design and project management colleagues technical advice in terms of costing, an ability undertake feasibility studies, undertake an NEC contract administration role, and advise on current best practice in the industry. An understanding of BIM is desirable.
