Job Title: Construction Manager South West – Infrastructure Division
Location – Banwell, Avon
Purpose of the role:
As Construction Manager you will provide leadership for construction phase activities within the Project Teams promoting health, safety environmental and construction best practice.
Key Accountabilities
You will:
1. Create a knowingly safe working environment.
2. Functional management of teams during the construction phase of the project.
3. Co-ordination of constructability input during preliminary design phase.
4. Planning, co-ordination and allocation of construction staff ensuring the most efficient and effective use of the resources.
5. Liaise with Project Managers, Site Team and HR teams to ensure that the construction resource pool is developed to satisfy the identified requirements of the portfolio of projects.
6. Overall Management of construction resources including labour, plant and material.
7. Performance and relationship management of subcontractors.
8. Identify discipline specific technical issues and feedback to the detail design team for resolution.
9. Ensure that the construction teams are accountable for their performance against agreed schedules and man hour budgets.
10. Ensure that all construction activities are carried out in accordance with Health and Safety Legislation.
11. Authorise Project Construction Phase Health and Safety Plans.
12. Ensure that all temporary and permanent construction activities are carried out in accordance with the contract specific quality plan.
13. Recognise that Health and Safety considerations are central to all tasks and contribute to ensuring safe working. environment for all. Ensure safety is the priority for all activities.
14. Report any HS&E issues to the Health & Safety Manager.
15. Implement the Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies and Targets.
16. Comply with the Galliford Try BMS.
Person Specification – to effectively undertake this role you will need the following:

18. Proven experience in successfully managing multiple teams contributing to their professional development.
19. First class project management capabilities able to showcase a track record o delivering to client’s expectations.
20. Expertise in developing a performance culture
21. Advanced communication skills adept at interfacing with multiple stakeholders both internal and external.
22. Strong knowledge of CDM .
23. Excellent knowledge of NEC and commercially astute.
24. Proven leadership and delegation skills.
Technical / Professional Qualifications Required
25. Experience Environment.
26. Relevant CSCS card.
27. HND/Degree Engineering.
